Sharp MFP Copiers win three (3) BLI awards for outstanding achievement in innovation, two of which are directly related to their Pro Series MX-6500N MFP colour copier and the 7500N MFP colour copier lines. Way to go Sharp!
Sharp is the proud recipient of not one, not two, but three 2014 BLI Buyers Lab awards for outstanding achievement in innovation for what BLI refers to as “groundbreaking features” that are currently available on the Sharp MFP Copiers MX-6500N and the Sharp MFP Copier MX-7500N product lines. Specifically, the Sharp Pro Series full-bleed booklet printing innovation, and the control panel integration with EFI Fiery Command WorkStation innovation, both of which are industry firsts.
Sharp MFP copiers achievement award for full-bleed booklet printing
“Hats off to Sharp for its full-bleed booklet printing,” said BLI Manager of Laboratory Testing Pete Emory. “Whereas competitors require expensive, space-eating inline and offline options, as well as access to more expensive 12″ x 18″-size paper to create full-bleed 11” x 17” booklets, users of the Sharp Pro Series can produce full-bleed, professional-looking booklets of up to 120 pages on 11″ x 17″ paper.”
The brilliance of the Sharp full-bleed booklet printing system on the MX-6500N and MX-7500N MFP colour copiers lies in the fact that apart from the lead edge, which has to have a blank area for trouble-free paper feeding, Sharp allows for toner to be applied edge-to-edge, thereby eliminating the white space that is typical of other devices when outputting booklets.
With this innovative feature, end-users can say goodbye to inline or offline three-edge trimming, which as anyone who’s attempted booklet printing will know, only add to the cost. To finish things off, the lead and trail edges are trimmed at the same time with a simple face trim feature.
Sharp MFP copiers achievement award for Control panel integration with EFI Fiery Command WorkStation
The second BLI award presented to Sharp was for outstanding achievement in the control panel integration with EFI Fiery Command WorkStation, also a Sharp MFP MX-6500N and Sharp MFP MX-7500N product feature.
“With the industry moving more and more towards tablet-style, touch-and-swipe interfaces, Sharp and EFI have found a way to raise the bar even further,” said Emory of BLI”
The benefit of this innovation is that it saves the end-user the costs and space associated with having to purchase an additional monitor, keyboard, mouse, and stand. Plus, because the same display serves as the main operation panel for the Pro Series, operators can easily switch between the two.
“It is an honor to receive these outstanding achievement awards for our innovative technology,” said Kent J. Villarreal, senior product manager, Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America. These awards acknowledge our commitment to address the needs of our customers with reliable technology that truly keeps them competitive and productive.”
